I love this recipe for cornbread is because you don’t need to make anything fancy. Many  of cornbread require buttermilk or creamed corn, or a very specific type of pan and can make any day, any time. You can use pan of any kind and you don’t need any special ingredients. You probably already have on just a few things.

Instructions
  1. Grease and set aside 9-inch round cake pan, Preheat to 400 degrees oven.
  2. Add the flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder to a medium mixing bowl. Whisk so you can combine well.
  3. Make your dry ingredients well in the center and add your oil or butter, milk and egg. Stir until the mixture comes together and just a few lumps remain.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is a deep golden brown, and clean comes a toothpick inserted into the center.
